Last February 7, our enthusiastic Junior Casa pupils, accompanied by their dedicated Junior Casa teachers, level Supervisor, Vice Principal, School Nurse, and a school staff member, embarked on an exciting community trip to Bustos City, marking the culminating activity for the 3rd quarter. Brimming with curiosity and eager to delve into the various facets of the community, the young learners boarded the school service van, ready for an educational journey filled with discovery and adventure.
The Junior Casa pupils began their community trip by visiting the Sto. Nińo Parish Church. They were filled with a sense of wonder as they explored the sacred place. Moreover, through a brief yet engaging discussion led by Teacher Florderliza Alcantara, the Level Supervisor for Junior Casa, the young learners deepened their understanding of the role of the church within the community, setting the stage for an enriching journey ahead.
Continuing their community trip, the Junior Casa kids embarked on a visit to the Bustos Municipal Hall, where they were greeted warmly by the friendly municipal staff headed by Sir Wilson Bonifacio, Head of the Tourism Office, setting a cheerful tone for their visit. The pupils in the morning class were fortunate to have a special photo opportunity with the respected and honorable Bustos Mayor, Mr. Francis Albert G. Juan. Mayor Juan who graciously engaged with the students, fostering a sense of togetherness as they captured memorable moments together. Afterward, they explored the surrounding area, capturing more pictures with classmates and teachers, cherishing the sense of unity.
The next stop on their community trip was the conveniently located Police Station near the municipal hall. Excitement filled the air as they made their way to the station, eager to meet real police officers and learn more about their roles in the community. The pupils were delighted to find that the officers were welcoming and approachable, happily engaging in conversations and answering questions about their duties and responsibilities. This brief yet impactful encounter provided the young learners with valuable insights into the vital role of law enforcement in the community.
The next destination was the Bustos Community Hospital, an essential institution in town. Due to safety concerns, the teachers opted to maintain a distance from the hospital itself. Instead, they guided the pupils to its location and provided a brief explanation about the significance of hospitals in providing healthcare services and maintaining the well-being of the community members.
For the next stop, at the fire station, the kids were thrilled to see the firetruck up close. Their faces lit up with wonder as they were invited to climb aboard and explore every corner of the impressive vehicle. Real excitement came when they were invited to try on the safety attire worn by firefighters. With a mix of awe and excitement, they eagerly slipped into the oversized jackets and helmets, feeling a sense of pride as they imagined themselves as courageous firefighters. The visit included a short yet informative discussion led by the firefighters, during which the children watched in amazement as the firefighters demonstrated their equipment and explained the importance of fire safety measures.
Lastly, the Junior Casa pupils visited the Bustos Central Elementary School. They were warmly welcomed by the school principal, Mrs. Rodella G. Mendoza and staff. The children were pleased to see other children in uniform and watch them study. After a brief tour of the school premises, they had a photo opportunity with some of the teachers in the school.
As the day concluded, the children boarded the school van with smiles on their faces, carrying with them memories and experiences that will be forever treasured. This educational and engaging community trip not only expanded their knowledge but also left an indelible mark on their hearts, fostering a sense of connection and appreciation for the community helpers who are working together for the betterment of the community.
