Once again, Sagradan students prove to the community the real meaning and manifestation of God’s steadfast love, commitment, and abundance of blessings by helping those underprivileged children of our community.
After years of the pandemic, the outdoor activity is finally back to full blast, and the festive celebration is echoing as the Grade 6 teachers recently concluded their Culminating Activity with the theme: “Refining the Richest Gift of Equity and Equality,” held last March 31–April 1, 2023, at different orphanages located in the vicinity of Bulacan. The students went to different orphanages, such as Bahay at Yaman ni San Martin de Porres, located at Brgy. Bonga Menor, Bustos, Bulacan, Bethlehem House of Bread Orphanage at Little Baguio, Baliuag, Bulacan, Gawad Kalinga Francoville, at Brgy. Piel, Baliuag, Bulacan, Nazareth Home at Brgy. Bonga Menor, Bustos, Bulacan, and Bukal ng Buhay Retreat House at Brgy. Malamig, Bustos, Bulacan. It was a humbling and joyful experience for the students to share their blessings with some of the unprivileged children in our community and to somehow give back to the community.
“Seeing the faces of all the children we visited in each of the orphanages makes all the efforts we exerted worth it,” said Jannelle Dela Cruz, one of the grade 6 teachers.
During the culminating activities, the students prepared a simple gift for the children of the orphanage to enjoy. They had a simple program in each orphanage and some games that the children truly enjoyed. They also prepared some food and a simple token of appreciation like a hygiene kit, which the children can use in their everyday lives.
Before the much-awaited culminating activity, the students were planning some ways to address the needs of the underprivileged children in our community and think of activities that will have a positive impact on children. During the preparation, students were busy doing activities that will help fulfill their hearts’ desires to help and serve other children. The students had their fundraising activity in TLE to source their budget and make use of the budget to carry out their plans.
“We’re happy that we were able to come up with such a culminating activity for our Grade 6 students that’s indeed different from the usual presentation of their output. We were also able to clearly demonstrate equity and equality for both the students and our beneficiaries,” said Dela Cruz.
The activity conducted by the students also proves that love for others and generosity conquer all. This is also a manifestation of how important it is to give back to the community in a simple way, no matter how big or small.
On the whole, we are excited to see more culminating activities like this in the future. Kudos to our Grade 6 Team,” said Dela Cruz.
