Montessori De Sagrada Familia (MDSF) High School smashers proved that they are bound for greater heights as three players captured gold in the recently concluded Bulacan Private Schools’ Association (BulPriSA) District III Meet Badminton last September 9-13 at Starzone Baliwag.
Zeth Quiambao (Singles 2), Melvin Abad III (Singles 1), and Khryzia Bernardo (Singles 1) once again prevailed in the court as they bested their opponents in their final matches, enough to bring them again in Provincial I Meet.
Palarong Pambansa gold medalist Zeth Quiambao stood tall at the bigger stage after concluding his debut in high school on a strong note, subduing Saint Jean Baptiste Academy’s (SJBA) Joshmetric Salonga, 21-10, 21-6, in the championship match of Singles 2 event.
Veteran Melvin Abad III, who is playing his last year snatched a spot in the Provincials sliding past Immaculate Conception School of Baliuag’s (ICSB) Yuan Santos, 21-4, 21- 9 giving Abad the Boys Singles 1 crown.
Bagging the smashers’ 3rd gold, Khryzia Bernardo reigned thriumpant downing SJBA’s Aliah Oliveros, 21-6, 21-10, in the Singles 1 event.
Duo shuttlers Jan Palarca and Nathaniel Jarobel did not go home empty-handed settling for 2nd with Stephanie Maniego who also bagged silver.
