The senior high school curriculum prescribed by the Department of Education primarily aims to give today’s students real life experiences that will enable them to better prepare for their future careers. On their last year in the senior high school program, the grade 12 students of Newton and Einstein conducted observations in institutions belonging to the sector of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics. The said activity was part of the Capstone Research Project where they are tasked to create a research output featuring a product linked to their chosen strand.
In partnership with esteemed local STEM service providers such as Green Antz Builders (Plaridel Bulacan) and Baliwag District Hospital, the SHS students were able to see the companies’ actual operations. The observations gave them a number of valuable insights in order to generate their research topic proposals. At present, the STEM students are having their regular consultation with experts in the field of chemical, electrical and civil engineering as they create products derived from existing studies and theories.
Ms. Girlie Perdon, the group’s Capstone Research Project adviser is grateful for the accommodation given by the doctors, nurses and engineers of the chosen industries. She is looking forward to the output that will be yielded out of this academic endeavor.
