Along with their aim to reduce and regulate the usage of plastic bottles in the campus, students of Montessori De Sagrada Familia (MDSF) joined forces to create a guild and foster projects protecting the environment.
MDSF encouraged the Sagradans to decrease the usage of plastic bottles while promoting its proper disposal through a large bin in front of the canteen.
Justine Rainer S. Pring, class captain of 10 – Humility, shared that the proper disposal of bottles eases the segregation of plastic bottles for the good of Sagradans.
“It’s a great idea because the school is using plastic bottles for drinking and a bigger bin for plastic bottles makes the segregation of waste easier which is good for recycling and for the benefit of other Sagradans,” Pring said.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Student Government (SSG) will launch a project that will provide drinking fountains in the school canteens and a film viewing that took place on Intramurals wherein the students traded 10 plastic bottles in exchange for a movie ticket as part of the campaign.
Improper waste disposal, especially for the plastic bottles, is abundant and the school refuses to add on the population of those who contribute to global warming, making them provide such motion and activities for the students.
