Missy Alleah Darcen, Grade 12 student, successfully gained a spot in the Bulacan Private Schools Association (BulPriSA) Vocal Solo competition held at Living Angels Christian Academy (LACA), September 19.
Darcen placed sixth out of more than 30 contestants with the help of her coach, Mrs. Bernadette Harlea, and her alternate coach, Ms. Vanessa Pascual who never stopped encouraging and supporting her throughout the whole competition.
According to her, she has a passion for singing and music in general that helped in the preparation process which involved continuous practice, avoidance of certain foods, and self-discipline.
Darcen’s words to those who wanted to join but do not have the confidence is to trust yourself first, know your forte, and sing in ranges where you are comfortable with.
“Wala naman sa taas ng kanta ‘yan,” she stated, “dun ka sa mas komportable ka, kung san ka magiging confident.”
