With regards to BayLayn 2018 Workshop and Contest held at the De La Salle University Taft, two of the Sagradan Penpushers excelled in the categories that they had joined.
Ziv Gabriel Cortez, a Grade 8 student, and Christian Niño Gulapa, a Grade 10 student, placed 1st in Sports Writing and 3rd in Copyreading and Headline Writing, both in Filipino, respectively.
“Grabe kasi di ko naman talaga medium yung filipino then yun wala pang practice. Nasa isip ko lang non na ienjoy yung opportunity kase it’s rare,” Cortez said.
“Kumbaga yung opportunity wala yun sa ibang students so grabe thank you kay Lord,” he added.
Others who participated were Argy Gatdula and Angelica Gatdula in News Writing; Woody Santos and Justine Panlaqui in Editorial Writing; Jester Macalino and Juvy San Jose in Feature Writing; Emelinda Cruz, Aldrin Aguas, and Zxyv Lisondra in Editorial Cartooning; Althea Alejandrino in Sports Writing; JC Patawaran in Copyreading and Headline Writing; and Christopher Tejero, Jr. and Radyn Punla in Photojournalism, all in Filipino.
Different high schools across NCR, Region III, and Region IV-A participated in the said event.
