Rhyss Kirsten C. Reyes, a Grade 3 pupil of Montessori De Sagrada Familia (MDSF) ended as a victor in the recently concluded Bulacan Private Schools’ Association (BulPriSA) District III Meet as she once again brought home the silver medal in Pagbigkas ng Tula competition held at the CSA Building of Baliuag University, Sept. 20.
The eight-year old Sagradan bested 42 other young poets from different private schools of the BulPriSA community as she delivered the ready-made poem piece with grace, elegance, and conviction which captured the attention of the panel of judges and made her hitch a spot in the top 10.
Reyes, who was also the silver medalist in the same competition last year, secured the 2nd spot with her performance of “Pag-asa” by Regie J. Olaira. She shared in an interview that the message of the poem is very meaningful. “If we have hope in everything we do, we can achieve anything that we aspire in our life,” she further explained.
Moreover, Reyes was trained by her coach Mrs. Jovelina Inductivo, who, when still young, also joined poem recital contest. In a private message, Inductivo said that “Rhyss is so passionate and energetic. She is a good listener and follower. She never fails to remind me about the schedule of our trainings.”
Reyes, together with the 1st placer from Immaculate Conception School of Baliwag will be the representatives of District III in the forthcoming Provincial Meet in October.
