The parents of the Junior Casa pupils gathered together for the meeting about the new assessment system that is aligned with the newly crafted vision and mission of the Montessori de Sagrada Familia (MDSF).
The Sagradan community offers a new assessment tool that is relevant to the needs of the learners, headed by the School Directress, Mrs. Maria Cristina Santos-Silamor, and the Preschool’s Assistant Principal, Mrs. Maria Carmela Santos-Ong, August 29.
The Preschool community strongly believes that parents should give more premium to the holistic development of the pupils rather than the numerical grades. Hence, they ended up constructing an assessment tool that will inspire each child to strive hard and compete not with the other children but among themselves.
Moreover, Teacher Cris discussed the importance of synchronizing the parent and school expectations. She also presented the developmental milestones so the parents will be able to track their child’s progress. In line with this, Teacher Cai introduced the new assessment system that is suitable to the needs of the learners. And the special awards that the children will receive.
This new assessment is not just in accordance with the DepEd Memorandum but also beneficial to the JC pupils. It will monitor the learning and progress of each child and will aim for the child’s total development.
This new assessment is another history to the Preschool Community. Let’s altogether embrace the new system as a family. The school as a learning hub for creativity and innovation will continuously offer the children an assessment tool that is really applicable and essential to their growth and development.
