Luis Antonio V. Buenaventura, a Grade 3 pupil of Montessori De Sagrada Familia soared at the top spot (First Place) and bested 42 other contestants in the Science Quiz Bee during the Bulacan Private Schools Association (BULPRISA) Academic Event held at San Benildo Integrated School, Sept.21.
“He really has the qualities of being a true Sagradan,” his coach, Mr. Jomar Dela Cruz affirmed. According to Mr. Dela Cruz, the child’s innate intellect has been Buenaventura’s asset to hitch sure spot in the top 10. “I have trust to Luis to represent the school. Luis is very focus, alert and willing to listen. He never complained about the bunch of books I asked him to read from cover to cover. His eagerness to learn new things on his own really paid off,” he added.
Buenaventura scored 27 out of 32 questions collected from the roster of Science coaches who made the questions themselves. Questions were rigidly scrutinized to ensure that the items really test the higher thinking skills of the contestants and not just knowledge on facts. The Quiz Bee lasted for almost two hours.
Buenaventura’s battle is not yet done though, for this high caliber Sagradan pupil will compete for the 2017 BULPISA Provincial Meet this October.
